It is integrated with IBM Container Registry and hence it automatically scans the images as soon as you push them to the registry. Vulnerability is just one tool that can be used for container image security. There are other tools such as Twistlock, CoreOS Clair, Dagda, and Anchore that can continuously scan your image for possible vulnerabilities and alert you when developers are not using secure images.
