Based in the Twin Cities on Dakota homelands, improvisational vocalist Sarah M. Greer (www.sarahmgreer.com) has invented music on local and international stages. She loves performing with other artists, singers and instrumentalists. Sarah works primarily on multi-disciplinary projects that support spontaneity, community and co-creation, having worked with choirs, composers, dancers, and visual and spoken word artists.
An avid singer and song carrier, Sarah has led her improv-based song circle, Songtaneous (www.songtaneous.com) since 2006 and teaches singing at Minneapolis College as well as to private students. She released her original and highly improvised debut album "What the Music Says Do" in 2018.
Sarah performs regularly in the Twin Cities with a cappella ensemble the Give Get Sistet (www.givegetsistet.com), and has guest-ed with a variety of players in other projects and collaborations throughout Minnesota, (Anthony Cox's Riotus N and Jay Young's Lyric Factory to name a few ).
Sarah has received three Artist Initiative Awards from the Minnesota State Arts Board, has a degree in vocal performance and a BSS with a concentration in music, and studied vocal improvisation for over a decade with Rhiannon (a member of Bobby McFerrin's Voicestra).
