Jeremy Tiang’s translations from Chinese include novels by Yeng Pway Ngon, Su Wei-Chen, Chan Ho-Kei, Zhang Yueran, Li Er, and Lo Yi-Chin, among others. He also writes and translates plays. His novel State of Emergency won the Singapore Literature Prize in 2018.
Heather Cleary is a translator from Spanish whose work has been nominated for the National Book Award, BTBA, and NTA, and supported by the PEN/Heim Translation Fund. Betina González’s American Delirium and María Ospina’s Variations on the Body are coming soon. She teaches at Sarah Lawrence College.
Alex Zucker’s translations from Czech into English include novels, stories, plays, subtitles, art history, philosophy, and an opera. In 2010, he won the ALTA National Translation Award for Petra Hůlová’s All This Belongs to Me. He is a member of the Cedilla & Co. translators’ collective and lives in Brooklyn.
Alta L. Price translates from Italian and German into English and was awarded the 2013 Gutekunst Prize. Her publications include books by Corrado Augias, Dana Grigorcea, Martin Mosebach, and Alexander Kluge. Her translation of Aldo Novarese’s Alfa-Beta is forthcoming this fall.
Jeffrey Zuckerman is an editor at Music & Literature and a translator from French, most recently of Jean Genet’s The Criminal Child and Hervé Guibert’s Written in Invisible Ink: Selected Stories. A finalist for the French-American Foundation Translation Prize, he is a winner of the French Voices Award Grand Prize.
Allison Markin Powell is a literary translator, editor, and publishing consultant. She received the 2020 PEN Translation Prize for her translation of Hiromi Kawakami’s The Ten Loves of Nishino. Her other translations include works by Osamu Dazai, Fuminori Nakamura, and Kanako Nishi. She maintains the database Japanese Literature in English.
Elisabeth Jaquette is a translator from Arabic and Executive Director of ALTA. Her work has been nominated for the TA First Translation Prize and Best Translated Book Award, and supported by a PEN/Heim and several English PEN Translates awards. Recent books include Adania Shibli’s Minor Detail and Dima Wannous’s The Frightened Ones.
