After graduating she found home in Homer, Alaska. She is most at home with paint and performance incited by her on-going social art practice archived at momologuecollective.com. In this virtual artist talk, she’ll introduce a short program series to be hosted in Seed Lab in person, Dec ___, including workshops on how to Craft a Momologue in Community (II), Momologues Collaboration (III) and Mama’s Open-Mic (IV). (30-45 minutes). Free. Registration required.
The Momologue Collective is a social art practice, created by multidisciplinary artist Brianna Allen. The on-going project collects short stories about motherhood and shares them anonymously online. This approach to storytelling builds community through safety, inclusion, vulnerability and trust and remarks on the culture of American mothering. Allen’s social art practice informs her visual art practice through painting and performance.
The Momologue Collective is a place self-identifying mothers share anonymous stories among an artistic community exploring the complexities of motherhood.
