Program Development: How to Kickstart and Grow Your Skilled Volunteering Program

By Social Impact World

Many social impact leaders are tasked with creating meaningful employee engagement programs. With the “Great Resignation,” employers, more than ever, need to provide meaningful opportunities for employees beyond their day-to-day responsibilities to feel a sense of purpose and build connection to one another and to their employer. Social impact leaders want to create programs that are engaging to employees and have substantive impact, but may need help to achieve those goals.
Team4Tech, a Silicon Valley based nonprofit, provides turnkey, skilled volunteering programs that provide leadership development for employees while they help bridge the digital equity gap in education, creating inclusion and new opportunities for millions of under-resourced learners around the world.
Team4Tech’s Executive Director, Julie Clugage, will share two case studies from Cadence Design Systems and Zendesk about volunteer programs that benefited education nonprofits and engaged employees globally.
You’ll learn how:
  • Cadence Design Systems created a multi-tiered global volunteering program ranging from lunch and learns with nonprofits to multi-week skilled volunteering programs for their “Season of Giving.”
  • Zendesk engaged employees in multiple skills-based volunteer opportunities. They also supplied Zendesk products to nonprofits to support their work.
Key Takeaways:
Attendees will learn about the range of different opportunities that exist to meet their employee engagement and leadership development goals. They will hear examples of other companies’ approaches and feel inspired by new ideas to approach their work and engage their employees in meaningful volunteer programs.
