Profit First Concepts for Makers & Creatives
By Paper + Spark
You may have heard other entrepreneurs talking about following "Profit First". It all started with the book Profit First, written by Mike Michalowicz (check it out here!).
Profit First outlines a set of principles to institute in your business in order to literally put YOUR profit first. It's essentially building in the ability to pay YOURSELF from your business on a consistent basis. Profit First also forces you to run a lean business - you'll stop overspending (and you may even start innovating!).
You may not have the time or energy to read the book, or you may have read it and feel like it's all a bit complicated for your micro maker biz. That's why I want to have a special workshop all about how handmade sellers, creative entrepreneurs and artists can easily apply some simplified Profit First principles to their own business finances.
Profit First principles -- simplified and designed ESPECIALLY for artists & creative e-commerce sellers
Right now is a GREAT time to learn & utilize PF in your business. Paying yourself for your hard work in this time of instability is more important than ever. Baking PF into your biz means paying yourself from each and every sale.
Come join me in this "pay-what-you-want" live workshop where I will walk through the following:
➡️ The basics of how PF works (the cliff notes version!)
➡️ A simplified version for self-employed people (no employees) running online shops
➡️ How to easily get your bank accounts set up
➡️ How to figure out a good amount to set aside in each PF "bucket" for your business needs (how much should you set aside for taxes, operating expenses, etc.?)
➡️ Examples of someone actually DOING Profit First each month
By the end of this workshop, you'll be ready to institute PF in your own business, and be well on the way to paying yourself what you need from your biz!
Questions:
Who are you Janet LeBlanc?
As an accountant and e-commerce seller, I've been using a simplified version of PF in my own business for over 2 years. I'm excited to teach you how to embrace the concepts of consistently paying yourself (while saving for taxes and other business expenses) during this time of financial instability. Learn more about me at paperandspark.com
Who does this apply to?
The concepts I discuss will apply to anyone who sells online. I always gear my work specifically towards makers, handmade sellers, and artists but PF principles work for ANY type of online (or really even offline) business, even if you sell services, digital products, etc.
Do I need to read the book first?
The book is great and I highly recommend reading it, but you don't need to read it to get the max benefit from our workshop since I'll be starting with a condensed summary of the concepts in the book.
How much does this cost?
This workshop is set up as a "pay-what-you-want" model. Since many of us are clamping down on our business spending, I've set this up so you can register for as little as $1.
If you're able to afford more, of course you're welcome to pay what you feel is worth it for learning this helpful info!
What if I can't make it live?
Everyone who registers will have replay access for this workshop afterwards.
How long will this last? Will I be able to ask questions?
I plan to teach for about one hour, and there will be time for Q&A at the end. You can also submit questions in advance (once you are registered) that I will try to tackle during my presentation.
I have other questions.
If you have questions, email me at [email protected] or visit me at paperandspark.com.
