Docket IX: Matterof Grotesque Sovereignty

As the American republic arrives at the eve of its 250th anniversary, Zakros InterArts summons the final Tribunal in The People v. The King: Docket IX, Matter of Grotesque Sovereignty. Broadcast live from the Zakros Underground Studio Bunker in Washington, DC, this culminating proceeding calls Père Ubu himself to the stand, performed by Ruben Wolzok live from Paris-Montmartre.

The Court has spent eight Dockets building the record: contested reality, voluntary obedience, broadcast spectacle, laundered unreality, intimate bureaucracy, imaginary solutions, necessary resistance, and the belly of the State. Now the evidence returns as indictment. Ubu must answer for the King’s crimes: appetite disguised as leadership, cruelty disguised as policy, stupidity disguised as instinct, bureaucracy disguised as order, and spectacle disguised as truth.

Do not expect decorum. Ubu will resist the evidence with every available sovereign organ. He will boast, deny, belch, threaten, misdirect, accuse, and attempt to wriggle free beneath the weight of his own absurdity. The Magistrate will press the case. The Public Jury will witness the collapse. The Court will enter the noise into the record.

At the end of the Tribunal, after final statements from the Magistrate and Ubu, the Public Jury will deliver the verdict: guilty or not guilty. The decision will close the live proceeding. The following day, Saturday, July 4, 2026, at 12:00 PM ET, the Court will release its comprehensive The Official Report of the Grand Pataphysical Tribunal to Investigate Grotesque Sovereignty to the public.
