"Women of Ithaca and Sparta: Forgotten Stories from Greek Mythology" with Claire North and Claire Andrews

By Orbit LIVE!

The women of Greek mythology are often, in stories, left behind. Penelope, wife of Odysseus, remains in Ithaca to rule while her husband goes to fight in the Trojan War. Daphne, pursued by Apollo, becomes a laurel tree, stuck forever in one place. Claire North and Claire Andrews find inspiration in these women in their latest books, out on September 6th: North's Ithaca, from Redhook; and Andrews's Blood of Troy, from Jimmy Patterson.
Join North and Andrews to discuss their latest books and the forgotten stories of Greek mythology—and to answer YOUR questions, in this live virtual event!
Claire North [she/her] is the World Fantasy Award-winning author ofThe Sudden Appearance of Hope and other acclaimed novels. Ithaca is her latest novel, which Booklistcalled "Richly poetic... A love letter to the silenced women of history."
Claire Andrews [she/her] is the author of Daughter of Sparta, her debut, which author Katy Rose Pool called "An utterly transportive and breathtaking debut." Blood of Troy is its sequel.
