Webinar Wednesday | Passing the Baton: The Handoff from High School to College to Employment

By College Greenlight

Supporting an underrepresented student to a strong job after college is like a relay race where many are part of the team effort. Each leg of the race depends on the leg before. The effects of the pandemic have only increased the need for a strong support team. How can counselors and college access partners feel confident in passing the baton (the student and their dreams) in the next step in the race? On March 24 at 2pm, join us for a lively conversation regarding these challenges and how one higher ed model has taken on the challenge of accepting the baton and getting it to the finish line. Topics will include:
  • Engaging practices to support students through their transition from high school to college
  • How an inclusive and welcoming college environment supports college persistence, especially for first gen students
  • The importance of a strong first job out of college
  • How university departments can work in tandem to support strong career outcomes
Presenters: Abiodun Durojaye, Executive Director of Career Bridge, National Louis University Aurora Flores Garcia, Director of Student Success, National Louis University Pauline DeGrazia, Director of Undergraduate Programming, Wheeling Campus, National Louis University
