Community Member Showcase: Star Peterson
By The Training, Learning, and Development Community
Star Peterson designs engaging instruction that maintains the learners' interest. They create eLearning courses, encompassing both traditional eLearning and microlearning. Additionally, they develop and deliver instructor-led training. Star specializes in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) training, offering courses on LGBTQIA+ topics, neurodivergence, and invisible disabilities. They also provide training on microaggressions and unconscious bias.
Star engages with clients to gain a thorough understanding of their organizations. They then analyze the needs of learners and identify existing learning gaps. Following this, they construct learning objectives and outline the required instructional content. They write storyboards and scripts based on adult learning theory, then use authoring tools to develop both synchronous and asynchronous training. Furthermore, they deliver DEIA training through various mediums such as webinars, eLearning, and microlearning.
