Dr. Marc Rauschmann became a homebrewer over 20 years ago, making his first beers with his mother´s 20-liter juice extractor pot. From this, Marc developed an enthusiasm for experimenting with ingredients, especially malt and hops.  This early passion led him to study at the Berlin Research Institute for Brewing and Malting Technology and at the Technical University of Berlin, where he graduated as an industrial engineer. During his doctorate, he was a member of the degustation committee at the German Agricultural Society (Deutsche Landwirtschaftsgesellschaft - DLG).

In 2001 Dr. Rauschmann joined Radeberger Gruppe as a master brewer where he was responsible for quality management, technology, and product development.  At Radeberger Gruppe he, together with his colleague Thorsten Schreiber, found support and the freedom to experiment with new brewing techniques while staying true to the German Purity laws. The result: an array of delicious new brews that would mark the beginning of the BraufactuM brand and the craft beer movement in Germany.

With BraufactuM, Dr. Rauschmann has fulfilled his vision of interpreting brewer craftsmanship in a new way, designing artful new beer creations, and continuing his search for the best craft beers.  His dedication to quality and craftsmanship have been recognized with more than 100 medals at various international contests including two silver medals at the World Beer Cup.
