Live Queries & Pages Panel with Amy Bishop
By The Manuscript Academy
Join us for a queries and first pages panel with agent Amy Bishop (Dystel, Goderich & Bourret). Submit your work for a chance at live feedback from our panel--plus, of course, a publishing Q&A. This event is designed to be supportive, uplifting, encouraging--and 100% introvert-friendly. (Wear pajamas! We'll never know.)
Queries and pages will be chosen at random, then given three minutes of feedback, so we can get through as many as possible.
A replay will be available 15 minutes after the end of the event, and we'll send the link to submit your work when we register. This event will work on your smartphone, tablet, or laptop.
Amy Elizabeth Bishop joined DG&B in 2015 after interning for them in 2014. At DG&B, she’s cultivating a wide-ranging list in literary and upmarket fiction, expert-driven narrative nonfiction, and select YA, with a special interest in Asian (and all BIPOC) voices. She is especially interested in upmarket and literary fiction, literary suspense, speculative, mysteries, and fiction from BIPOC authors. For YA, think contemporary (fresh rom coms, thrillers). For nonfiction: Historical narrative, biography, pop science, psychology, current events, feminist works. No memoirs.
Her list includes titles such as The Last Story of Mina Lee by Nancy Jooyoun Kim (a Reese’s Book Club selection and NYT bestseller), The Silence of Bones by June Hur (a Junior Library Guild selection and Edgar Award nominee). Before diving into the world of publishing, she graduated from SUNY Geneseo with a degree in Creative Writing. Though she grew up upstate, she currently resides in Woodside, Queens. You can find her on Twitter at @amylizbishop.
