As the daughter of an immigrant (yes, an illegal immigrant), I feel what has been happening at the southern border of our country particularly keenly. Had I been born more recently, only a few things would have had to go differently in my parents' lives for me to have wound up in one of these cages myself.

I have been struggling with a feeling of helplessness, and I decided to take advantage of the platform I created with UNspoiled! Podcast to raise some money for Project Corazon, a program by Lawyers for Good Government https://www.lawyersforgoodgovernment.org/project-corazon

Their mission is to mobilize lawyers to reunite families who are being torn apart by this zero-tolerance policy, and they do this by partnering with other non-profits to provide representation to immigrants who have been detained. They help offset the costs of travel and hotels for lawyers who want to come to the border to help, but might not be able to afford to otherwise.
