Specifically BJCP Written Exam T8 - Discuss the importance of water in the brewing process. John will specifically address:
  • Discuss two characteristics of water that are important for the brewing process. - 20%
  • Summarize two methods brewers use to adjust and control the pH of their brewing water. - 20%
  • Discuss how the mineral content of the water played a role in the development of four world beer styles. - 60%
He will discuss these topics in detail during the first half and answer your questions in the second half of the webinar. So please get submit your questions as early as possible.
About John Palmer:
John Palmer is the author of the bestseller How to Brew: Everything You Need to Know to Brew Great Beer Every Time (2017), co-author of both Brewing Classic Styles (2007), and Water: A Comprehensive Guide for Brewers (2013) from Brewers Publications. John Palmer was born and raised in Midland, Mich., and graduated from Michigan Tech University. He graduated with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering in 1987. John worked in the space program at a failure analysis lab in Irvine, California, and he has helped design, build, and inspect hardware that is currently flying on the International Space Station.
