Reimagine Safety Up and Down the Ballot: Movement Politics 2021
By People's Action
It’s time to reclaim democracy in cities and towns all across the country to make our communities safe.
To People’s Action, safety means clean water, housing, education, sustainable jobs, health care, and freedom from police violence.
Local officials you elect decide where resources go, and what safety looks like in the community where you live.
That's why in 2021, we’re doubling down to support key campaigns and causes in local elections up and down the ballot.
Building on our wins last November and the national uprisings for Black Lives, we are ready to bring the power of our Deep Canvass Program to make communities safe.
In 2020, our approach proved over 100 times more effective than traditional campaign techniques to defeat Trump nationwide and flip the Senate in Georgia.
Join People’s Action on Thursday, March 18 at 8 p.m. EST for the launch of our new Deep Canvass Program to Reimagine Safety Up and Down the Ballot, and to learn what you can do right now to help.
We will hear from candidates and organizers fighting to win at the local level in New York City, Buffalo, and Minneapolis. And of course, our special musical guests - Patti Austin and Speech from Arrested Development!
Cohosts Afúa Atta-Mensah, from Community Voices Heard Power in New York City, and Cacje Henderson from TakeAction Minnesota will be joined by Illinois State Senator Robert Peters, India Walton, candidate for mayor of Buffalo, and New York City Council candidates Tiffany Cabán and Crystal Hudson.
How will we win? With you. Can't wait? You can join our team right now.
You can help reimagine safety and a brighter future where you live, with those you love. Join us!
