Willie has spent his entire life dedicated to student success. He was the 2022 Kentucky Teacher of the Year, served as Ambassador to the Kentucky Department of Education, and testified before the House Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties on the need for protections for LGBTQ+ students, teachers, and staff in schools.
