This poignant and powerful poetry collection reveals the personal experiences of a gay man growing up in Appalachia and his pursuit of a life filled with beauty, pride, and acceptance.
Willie has spent his entire life dedicated to student success. He was the 2022 Kentucky Teacher of the Year, served as Ambassador to the Kentucky Department of Education, and testified before the House Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties on the need for protections for LGBTQ+ students, teachers, and staff in schools. He is a valuable and visible member of the LGBTQ+ community, and his important and timely new release will be an essential resource for LGBTQ+ youth, teens, and adults across the country.
