Interview with Douglas Hamilton
By Notgrass History
Alexandar Hamilton (c. 1757-1804) was born on the Caribbean island of Nevis and immigrated to New York in 1772. He served as an aide to George Washington during the American Revolution, helped create the U.S. Constitution, and became the first U.S. Secretary of the Treasury.
Douglas Hamilton is a five times great-grandson of Alexander Hamilton. He has spent 60 years doing genealogy of the Hamilton family and 40 years attending events representing and speaking about his famous ancestor. Mr. Hamilton now spends the majority of his time learning about people and events during the Revolutionary War era.
