Part two of this series you will learn how you can reclaim the Internet. In this session you will learn about alternative network practices that draw from the global community network movement and how it furthers positive social impacts on local neighbourhoods. The session will invite participants to explore technology as a practice rather than consumption, as an emancipatory approach to build digital equity. The session will also inform us of ongoing initiatives in the neighbourhoods of Toronto.
This lecture is presented by Toronto Mesh, an organization that helps communities create better networks with open source and peer-to-peer technologies that promote digital literacy and privacy.
Space is limited and specific instructions with a crowdcast link will be provided after registration.
