Decarbonising Domestic Heating: Launch of the Sustainable Energy Association’s Carbon Intensity Standard White Paper.
By Installer & elemental
Hosted by Lucy Dixon
The Sustainable Energy Association (SEA) has developed an innovative white paper introducing a Carbon Intensity Standard aimed at reducing permitted carbon emissions for domestic heating systems through practical, incremental changes. This fully modelled policy proposal is designed to:
- Establish a clear timeline for low-carbon industries and end-users to follow.
- Promote a technology-agnostic approach to decarbonising domestic heat.
- Enable a market-driven strategy for decarbonisation, making low-carbon technologies more competitive, accessible, and appealing to all.
- Bridge the gap between carbon reduction targets for domestic heating systems and the broader goals of meeting carbon budgets, while addressing the political sensitivities around "ripping out one’s boiler”.
Join Elemental’s webinar for the official launch of the SEA's Carbon Intensity Standard White Paper. The SEA team will present the proposal and its findings, welcome questions, and discuss next steps, including future policy proposals currently under development by the SEA.
