Our topic of discussion will be “Hacking Metrics That Matter: An hour of critical thinking about finding what you need to measure to improve your security program.”

What are vanity metrics? Why do they persist?
How can we use metrics to show “safety” to the business?
What do metrics need to show to matter to the organization?
What frameworks are available to help frame metrics?
How do you start applying a framework to your existing metrics collection?
Do your metrics make it obvious what you need to do next?
How can you pivot metrics to tell a story to the wider business?
Why does it feel other areas of the business are more mature in their use of metrics to tell a story?
What can we learn from other areas of the business to tell a better story with metrics?
It all starts at 1 PM Eastern/10 AM Pacific. At the end of the hour [2 PM Eastern/11 AM Pacific] we'll switch gears to our meetup where everyone will get a chance to chat face to face.
