“Hacking Your Cybersecurity Career" - Super Cyber Friday

Our topic of discussion will be “Hacking Your Cyber Security Career: an hour of critical thinking of how to level up your professional development.”
Joining David Spark (@dspark), producer of CISO Series for this discussion will be:

In preparation for our discussion, think about the following:
- How do you break into cyber? And how do you answer this constantly asked question?
- How do you get experience if you don’t have a job in the industry?
- What is the best way to address job postings with ridiculous prerequisites?
- What techniques have you used to advance your career? Were these planned out or do you recognize them in hindsight?
- When should you look to leave a job that isn’t offering the advancement opportunities you want?
- What is the role of mentorship in advancing your career? When should you seek out a mentor and when can you become one?
- How do you start consciously building out a professional network?
- What education should you pursue?
- How can you make the best out of a position with a bad boss?
It all starts at 1 PM Eastern/10 AM Pacific. At the end of the hour [2 PM Eastern/11 AM Pacific] we'll switch gears to our meetup where everyone will get a chance to chat face to face.
