Gluten Free Pie Crust with Annie Erbsen
By Native Ground
Is there anything better than eating a slice of freshly baked summer pie with a tender and flaky crust? If you can't eat gluten, you don't have to miss out! Pie baker and cooking instructor Annie Erbsen spent years testing recipes to come up with the PERFECT gluten free pie crust and is thrilled to finally share her secrets with you!
In this class we will cover the basics of gluten free baking, make our own special pie crust flour blend, go over all the tricks for making a spectacular piecrust that is indistinguishable from the very best gluten crusts, make a crust and blind bake it.
Notes: This class is gluten, egg and nut free, but we do use dairy in the pie crust recipe. We won’t be making fillings in this class(stay tuned for that later). All levels are welcome, but some home baking experience is recommended.
📷About the teacher:
Annie Erbsen works as a cookbook editor, teaches cooking classes at the John C. Campbell Folk School and Log Cabin Cooking, and worked as a pastry chef in Ireland. She has won “best crust” and “best in show” at the Asheville Retro Pie Contest with her gluten free pies.
