Chop Wood, Carry Water: A Nervous System Practice Circle
By Jumpsuiters
The Buddhists were on to something when they said the path to enlightenment was to “chop wood, carry water.” Taking care of the body — and understanding how the nervous system evolved to ensure the survival of this animal body — can be one of the most powerful ways to anchor ourselves in reality.
Meet your Host, Z!
In a world changing faster than ever, knowing how to regulate the nervous system increases our capacity to stay present and steady. When outer threats feel high and consciousness begins to expand, it’s easy to slip into fight, flight, freeze, or flop. These extreme states can sometimes be described as ascension sickness or spiritual psychosis.
So let’s come back to basics. Let’s learn the language of the nervous system together — and support ourselves in the here and now while stepping into what’s to come.
