Jayapal chairs the Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC), which represents nearly 100 progressive members from the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate. The CPC recently released their Progressive Proposition Agenda, a framework to expand access to health care, housing and education, protect the environment, strengthen democracy and defend fundamental rights in 2025 and beyond.

Prior to her election to Congress in 2017, Jayapal led OneAmerica, a People's Action member group which was founded after the attacks of September 11 to bring Washingtonians together around shared values and counteract the rise of anti-immigrant hate.
