An intimate evening of live readings with exceptional Pittsburgh writers co-curated by Pat Hart and Marc Nieson of the Free Association Reading Series.
Featured Writers:
Mike Good lives in Pittsburgh and serves as managing editor of Autumn House Press. His recent poetry and book reviews can be found in or are forthcoming in December, The Carolina Quarterly, Five Points, Forklift, OH, Full Stop, The Georgia Review, Pleiades, Salamander, Spillway, SOFTBLOW, and elsewhere. His work has received support from the Sewanee Writers' Conference and The Sun, and he holds an MFA from Hollins University.
Cedric Rudolph received his MFA from Chatham University. He is currently in his third year of teaching fiction and poetry to middle and high school writers at the Pittsburgh Creative and Performing Arts school (CAPA). He is one of the founding editors for Beautiful Cadaver, which publishes social justice-themed anthologies and stages theatrical performances. His poems are published in Christianity and Literature Journal, The Laurel Review, and the Santa Fe Literary Review.
Lynda Schuster is a former foreign correspondent for the Wall Street Journal and the Christian Science Monitor. Her writing has appeared in the New York Times Magazine, The Atlantic, Granta and Utne Reader, among others. She is the author of Dirty Wars and Polished Silver: The Life and Times of a War Correspondent Turned Ambassatrix.
Pat Hart writes plays, short stories, and novels. Playwriting credits include “Book Wench” a one-act play, performed at the Strawberry One-Act Festival, New York, New York. Published short stories include “The Reader,” Every Day Fiction; “The Vigil,” The Writing Disorder; “New Wife vs. Old Wife, a love story,” Voices in the Attic; “Dragon Boogers” a novel excerpt also in Voices in the Attic; and “Spider Ball,” Rune. Pat is the founder of Free Association, a reading series for established and emerging writers in Pittsburgh.

Co-Curators:
Pat Hart writes plays, monologues, short stories, and novels. Hart has a BA in Creative Writing from the University of Pittsburgh.
Marc Nieson is a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and NYU Film School. Nieson teaches at Chatham University, edits The Fourth River, and is working on a new novel, HOUDINI’S HEIRS.
Founded in May of 2016, Free Association Reading Series is for established and emerging Pittsburgh writers of prose, poetry, and non-fiction. Not affiliated with any formal writing programs, FARS is ‘non denominational’ and draws writers from universities, workshops, and those toiling away alone in their garrets.
