Evan Sprinkle serves Elon University as the Dean of Undergraduate Admissions. As dean of undergraduate admissions, Sprinkle provides creative and strategic leadership to undergraduate recruitment while overseeing existing successful initiatives and developing new and innovative programs and resources. He leads the undergraduate admissions staff and collaborate with families, counselors and community organizations. His considerable recruitment experience also includes strategic construction of the admissions funnel, and aligning travel/outreach to support application generation, analysis of predictive yield models and creating and designing all student-facing communication. Prior to joining Elon in 2021, Sprinkle spent 14 years in the admissions office at his alma mater, Queens University of Charlotte. A first-generation college graduate, Sprinkle is passionate about creating opportunities for students to have access to a college education. He holds a degree in communication and a MBA from Queens; and fun fact, he can play the didgeridoo.
Adriana Bustos is passionate about increasing access to higher education, particularly for historically underrepresented populations. Currently, she serves as Assistant Dean of Admissions at Pomona College and Ambassador for The Coalition for College. A double graduate of the California State University system, Adriana holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a master’s degree in higher education. This dual academic background reflects both her analytical mind and passion for educational equity. For nearly a decade, Adriana has dedicated herself to closing the graduation gap for marginalized populations through work in college access programs, student affairs, and admissions.
Matt Ybarra is from the no-stoplight town of Altamont, Kansas (pop. 1000). He earned his bachelor’s degree from Stanford University in Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity. During college, he studied abroad in Switzerland, Russia, and Germany, interned at the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City, coordinated a scholarship competition for Latinx high school students and helped run the Stanford Powwow. Matt worked for seven years as an admission counselor at Stanford and Caltech before moving to New Mexico, where he is currently working as the Director of College Counseling at Santa Fe Prep. He often collaborates with College Horizons, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, QuestBridge, The Gates Scholarship, and other programs supporting college access and retention for students from low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented backgrounds. Matt serves on the Rural and Small Town leadership board for the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC), as well as the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access Committee for the Rocky Mountain Association for College Admission Counseling (RMACAC).
