Join us for a virtual event with editor S. Zainab Williams and contributors Mia P. Manansala, Susan Purr, and Wen Wen Yang, to celebrate the publication of FIT FOR THE GODS!
About the book:
FIT FOR THE GODS is an anthology of gender-bent, queered, race-bent, and inclusive retellings from the enchanting and eternally popular world of Greek myth. Brave, bold, and groundbreaking, the stories in Fit for the Gods will be like ambrosia for those craving fresh interpretations of their favorite myths, and give long-time fans a chance to finally see themselves in these beloved legends.
About the contributors:
S. Zainab Williams (she/her) is a writer, editor, and illustrator based in Asheville, NC. A podcaster and director of content for Book Riot, and a member of PEN America’s Literary Awards Committee, she spends most of her days thinking about how to make the world of books and reading more inclusive and progressive.
Mia P. Manansala (she/her) is a writer and certified book coach from Chicago who loves books, baking, and badass women. She uses humor (and murder) to explore aspects of the Filipino diaspora, queerness, and her millennial love for pop culture. She is the author of the award-winning Tita Rosie’s Kitchen Mystery series. A lover of all things geeky, Mia spends her days procrastibaking, playing JRPGs and dating sims, reading cozy mysteries and diverse romance, and cuddling her dogs, Gumiho and Max Power.
Susan Purr (she/her) grew up in Midland Park, New Jersey, and earned her BA at Muhlenberg College and her MA in creative writing at Southern New Hampshire University. Her poetry and short stories have appeared in various anthologies in recent years, as well as within her chapbook, Through Windows. When she’s not writing, Susan can be found making dream catchers, dabbling in local politics, and supporting scientific efforts to treat and cure blindness, including her own.
Wen Wen Yang is a first-generation Chinese American raised in the Bronx, New York. She graduated from Barnard College of Columbia University with a degree in English and creative writing.
