Embedding Social Value Within the Professional Services Sector
By Environment Analyst
The concept of social value keeps evolving but is most mature in the construction sector. Here, a core of deliverables associated with project employment and skills plans, such as apprenticeships, training for the workforce, local employment, local supply chain and engagement with those in education, have become a requirement on many projects, either as a result of a client ask, a framework commitment or planning condition. Many contractors’ social value strategies have evolved to match these requirements. They are complemented by a range of less project-specific activities, such as volunteering days, support for the LGBTQ+ community and campaigns to tackle mental health. But how well do these priorities translate to professional services? Are they appropriate?
In this webinar, we consider these questions and look at:
- Where contractors and those in the professional services sector can work together
- Where professional services can offer unique value
- How the social value agenda adds value to the professional services sector
