Duncan & Robinson

By Walker|West Music Academy

This performance is a pretty special one. Not only does it conclude our 2020 virtual Rondo Community Music Series, but it is dedicated to beloved "First Lady of Song" here in the Twin Cities, Debbie Duncan, who has been battling some immense health challenges recently.
William Duncan, Motown City born, once Child Prodigy, Minister of Music, shares a fragment, but dynamic portion of his God-inspired beloved music with the Twin Cities. Brother Duncan grew up with music. He's taught and worked with some of the greatest gospel artists in the country. Some of these artists include the late Mattie-Moss-Clark and her daughters, The Clark Sisters, Byron Cage, Fred Hammond, J Moss, The Winans, the late Donald Vails, and Thomas Whitfield, to name a few. Most recently he was commisioned to compose an original piece for "Art in This Present Moment" , an initiative by the Saint Paul and Minnesota Foundation and the McKnight Foundation.
Robert Robinson is reason to believe that the greatest music reaches every name and crosses every boundary, from audiences in the Pontiac Silverdome to troops in South Korea. Robert possesses the ability to sing any song and yet remain true to his vision.
William Duncan & Robert Robinson will perform gospel, jazz and R&B songs with background vocals provided by the WDP ( William Duncan Project ). Before last year's performance William Duncan promised, " You will be inspired and you won't walk out the same" - he made good on that promise and would love for you to join again.
