Conquering FOMO: 3 Fiction Writers Reimagine Community During Global Pandemic

What's it like to write, publish, or promote a book during a pandemic? Three writers will discuss their books, writing, and connecting to the book community in the age of COVID-19.
Meet the authors:
Ellen Prentiss Campbell’s "Known By Heart: Collected Stories" appeared May 1. Her debut novel, "The Bowl with Gold Seams" received the Indy Excellence Award for Historical Fiction; "Contents Under Pressure: Collected Stories" was nominated for The National Book Award. A Fellow of The Virginia Center for Creative Arts, Ellen received her MFA from The Bennington Writing Seminars. A member of WNBA-DC, she lived for many years in Maryland, now lives in Washington, D.C., and has spent summers for over fifty years in Bedford County, Pennsylvania where many stories and her novel are set. Ellen practiced psychotherapy; she now writes full time and is at work on a novel. A contributing editor of The Fiction Writers Review she also reviews and blogs for The Washington Independent Review of Books. Jan Cherubin is the recipient of fellowships from the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and the Vermont Studio Center. She received an MFA in fiction from Bennington, returning to the college where she first studied writing with Bernard Malamud and John Gardner. Her work has appeared in The Los Angeles Review of Books, Los Angeles Magazine, New York Magazine, Seventeen, The Forward, and other publications. Cherubin is also a playwright and standup comedian. When not quarantining, she can be seen at clubs around Los Angeles. "The Orphan’s Daughter" is her debut novel. Her website is www.jancherubin.com.
Ginger Eager’s 2020 debut novel, "The Nature of Remains," won The AWP Prize for the Novel. Her short stories, essays, and reviews have appeared in various online and print journals, including Bellevue Literary Review and The Chattahoochee Review. Ginger holds an MFA in Writing and Literature from The Bennington Writing Seminars. She’s worn many caps in her working life, including security guard, postpartum doula, preschool teacher, and adjunct professor.
