Charis welcomes Brandy Hall in conversation with Maurice Small in celebration of The Complete Guide to Home Permaculture. This guide offers accessible ways to address the global climate crisis we face, allowing you to participate in the Earth’s return to health right from your own backyard.

A plethora of before-and-after photos and examples of existing home permaculture gardens, coupled with how-to projects, detailed illustrations and landscape plans, and a thoughtful explanation of the 3 pillars of a regenerative landscape (water, soil, and plants), will lead you to discover that every garden—no matter its size—can have a positive impact.

Brandy Hall is the author of The Complete Guide to Home Permaculture and the Founder & CEO of Shades of Green Permaculture, as well as the Mayor of Pine Lake, Georgia. A regenerative designer with more than sixteen years of experience, she has helped thousands of homeowners and organizations transform landscapes into resilient, water-wise, ecologically productive systems. Across all her roles, Brandy’s mission is consistent: to help people cultivate landscapes—and communities—that heal, connect, and endure.

Maurice Small - with 900+ gardens built along with 100’s of farms and thousands of students taught -  embodies ecological wisdom. His 30-year legacy includes transformative spaces, education, along with biodynamic and organic farming that inspires environmentally healthy, vibrant food.
