Casey Plett on the Making of LittlePuss Press: a Feminist Press Run by Trans Women
By Charis Books and More/Charis Circle
This event takes place in person at Charis and on Crowdcast, Charis' virtual event platform. This event is free, but registration is required for virtual attendance. Please read the in-person event guidelines at the bottom of this page to be sure you can participate in the event.
Charis welcomes LittlePuss Press publisher Casey Plett in conversation with Atlanta library worker and T4T Book Club Founder, Jamie Hare, for a celebration of feminist presses, trans writing, and making our own spaces!
LittlePuss Press is a feminist press run by trans women. They believe in printing on paper, intensive editing, and throwing lots of parties.
About the conversation partners:
Casey Plett is the author of On Community, A Dream of a Woman, Little Fish, A Safe Girl to Love, and the co-editor of Meanwhile, Elsewhere: Science FIction and Fantasy From Transgender Writers. She is an Assistant Professor of English and Film at Ohio University and the Publisher at LittlePuss Press.
Jamie Hare is a library worker and student based in Decatur. She is the founder and facilitator of the Atlanta T4T Book Club in which transfeminine folks gather together to read and discuss works by transfeminine authors. In previous lives she has been a student of religion and worked for the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung, an internationally operating, progressive non-profit institution for political education, where her primary responsibilities concerned socio-ecological transformation, particularly in relationship to the Global South.
The event is free and open to all people, but we encourage and appreciate a donation of $5-20 in support of the work of Charis Circle, our programming non-profit. Donate on Crowdcast or via our website: www.chariscircle.org/donate or in person at the event.
Charis Books is a fully wheelchair accessible space with on site van accessible parking, two ramps, and additional overflow accessible parking nearby. Additional accessibility information can be found on the Accessibility page of our website.
