Biological molecules session 1: monomers & polymers AND carbohydrates
I’m Olivia, a former teacher and now a full-time tutor. It’s my mission to help A Level Biology students transform their exam technique. I run weekly exam masterclasses designed specifically for the AQA exam board.

As soon as you sign up, you’ll be able to download my model answer notes for the topic being covered. If you have time, you’ll benefit from reviewing these before the session. You’ll also be able to download the pack of carefully selected exam questions (40-45 marks) that we'll be working through in the session. Again, if you get a chance you'll benefit from having a quick look through these before the session.
The final thing to do before the session (if you choose) is have a go at the self-paced Kahoot quiz that I've created covering the key points for the topic being covered. I strongly recommend trying this without your notes so that I can see where you need the most support. No judgement here!
We start each session with a Q&A session and a quick run through of the most challenging parts of the topic. We then spend the rest of the session working through the exam questions together. You'll learn how to read each question in a way that enables you to identify exactly what the examiner is looking for, as well as how to write a model answer and any common mistakes that I see students make.
The result of your work? You’ll feel so much more confident in the topic having your refined your understanding, while also developing the exam skills needed to improve your grade.
