Beginning Tarot Reading with Elie Barnes
By Hex Education Network
In this introductory class on using Tarot cards for divination, professional psychic medium Elie Barnes will teach you to work quickly and directly with the Tarot, including:
- Simple, relatable meanings of the cards.
- An overview of the 22 Major Arcana.
- An introduction to the 56 Minor Arcana—including clear and sensible descriptions of the oft-misunderstood court cards.
- Types of card spreads to address different kinds of questions.
The class begins with a short history of the Tarot cards, helps you learn how to choose a deck, and explores methods of building a teacher-student relationship with one's personal deck. The, we dig right into meanings and patterns in the cards. We finish the class by learning several Tarot spreads to address questions that come up most often in everyday life.
Elie will also provide a helpful handout at the end (or linked in the online and on-demand video) listing the meaning of each of the 78 cards in a standard Tarot deck. These are taught as Elie has learned them over 35 years of reading with the Rider-Waite-Smith deck.
If you have one, please bring a Rider-Waite tarot deck or have one available while you watch online!
