Join Tucson Festival of Books for this exclusive conversation in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II with authors John Bruning, Sam Kleiner and Hampton Sides. The discussion will serve as a tribute to military pilots in WWII.
John R. Bruning is the author of "Race of Aces." He is also the author and collaborating writer of the national bestseller, "Indestructible." Bruning is well traveled as an embedded combat correspondent. For his reporting in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense presented him with the Thomas Jefferson Award in 2010.
Samuel Kleiner is a historian and lawyer based in New York City. He was raised in Tucson, Arizona and holds a BA from Northwestern University, a doctorate in international relations from the University of Oxford, where he was a Marshall Scholar, and a JD from Yale Law School. His writing has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, Foreign Policy and The Atlantic. His latest book is "The Flying Tigers."
Hampton Sides is the author of "On Desperate Ground," "In the Kingdom of Ice," "Ghost Soldiers," "Blood and Thunder," "Hellhound On His Trail," and other bestselling works of narrative history and literary non-fiction. Hampton is an editor-at-large for Outside.
