CCPL Author Visit: Terry Catasús Jennings

By Charles County Public Library

Celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month with CCPL by Join us for a virtual Author visit with Terry Catasús Jennings, as she presents about the adventures of Definitely Dominguita!
In this program, Terry C. Jennings will share how Dominguita is forced to become a worthy knight to prove a point. But once she does, she actually likes the idea of playing at being characters in different books. Dominguita’s threesome—Dom, Pancho and Steph—is made up of two Cuban-American kids and one American-American kid. Through Dom’s and Pancho’s discussions of Cuban food and Cuban customs and Stephs skepticism (at first) and then acceptance and even liking of these customs and foods. ‘Try it, you’ll like it,’ is tan ever present vibe in the books. We can extend this metaphor to human beings. They may be different from what we know, but if we give them a try, we may just like them.
Definitely Dominguita Series: Judy Moody meets the Diary of a Future President remake in this heartwarming chapter book series featuring a young Cuban American girl who finds adventure based on the classics she read with her beloved abuela
