Application Deployment Options for OpenShift 4 on IBM Cloud

By IBM Developer

Red Hat® OpenShift® on IBM Cloud is an extension of the IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service, where IBM manages OpenShift® Container Platform for you.
With Red Hat® OpenShift® on IBM Cloud, developers have a fast and secure way to containerize and deploy enterprise workloads in Kubernetes clusters. This session walks through deploying a Java microservice in OpenShift® on IBM Cloud. It can often be a challenge to figure out the right place to start with microservice deployments -- especially with porting legacy code.
In this session you will learn:
  • how to create your own OpenShift® cluster on the IBM Cloud, how to use the oc CLI (command line interface)
  • how to use the OpenShift® Web Console to deploy applications.
  • distributed logging with LogDNA
  • different modes of deploying to OpenShift® including from a previously existing image, from a Git repository, and from Source Code using Source-to-Image (S2I).
