Festive Apple Hand Pie Secrets w/Barbara Swell

Not your everyday apple pies, these festive flaky pie bites will bring squeals of delight from all who partake. Give them for gifts, eat them yourself, bring them to the socially distanced winter party. We’ll chat about apple varieties and make cider syrup along with a couple robustly flavored pie fillings. Then we’ll craft apple-bag woven pielets, pie pops using Chinese mooncake molds and tiny apple pear mince tarts.
Decorative crust elements, baking secrets, flavor variations and recipes (including Barb's pie crust recipe) included.
📷About the teachers: The class will be taught by mother-daughter team Barbara Swell and Annie Erbsen. Barbara is the author of the best-selling cookbook The Lost Art of Pie Making Made Easy, which has sold about 500,000 copies. She's been teaching pie-making classes at the John C. Campbell Folk School and at Log Cabin Cooking for 20 years. Annie works as a cookbook editor, teaches cooking classes at the John C. Campbell Folk School, and worked as a pastry chef in Ireland.
HOW THE CLASS WORKS: You’ll be able to see and hear us, but we won't be able to see or hear you (so stay in those comfy sweatpants if you wish). The class will last about an hour, and we encourage you to ask questions and share comments in the chat section. You'll also be able to download class materials, and you can replay the video as much as you want afterwards (it'll be up for at least a month).

You are welcome to follow along and bake with us as we go. However, the class is structured so you can watch it live, then bake later. You can replay the video as many times as you want after the broadcast for the rest of the month.
