Join award-winning author/illustrator Angela Dominguez in celebration of her newest book, Stella Díaz Dreams Big, book three in the Stella Díaz series.  Angela has invited her friend, author/illustrator Isabel Roxas to talk about writing and drawing and friendship. Isabel's new book, My Thoughts Are Clouds , poems by Georgia Heard, illustrated by Isable, comes out February 9th. Angela Dominguez was born in Mexico City and grew up in the great state of Texas. She now resides on the east coast with her boyfriend, Kyle, and petite dog, Petunia.

She is also the author and illustrator of several books for children and a two-time recipient of Pura Belpré Illustration Honor. Her debut middle grade novel, Stella Díaz Has Something To Say, was a New York Public Library and a Chicago Public Library pick for Best Books for Kids in 2018, Sid Fleischman Award winner, and an ALA Notable. When Angela is not in her studio or visiting schools, she teaches at the Academy of Art University, which honored her with their Distinguished Alumni Award in 2013.

Angela is a proud member of SCBWI, PEN America, and represented by Wernick and Pratt Literary Agency. As a child, she loved reading books and making a mess creating pictures. She’s delighted to still be doing both.

Isabel Roxas is an author/illustrator, indie publisher, ceramicist and avid reader.
She was born in Manila, Philippines, was raised on luscious mangoes, old wives’ tales, and monsoon moons. She is a recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship and graduated with a Masters in Communications Design from Pratt Institute. She is now based in NYC where she writes and illustrates stories, designs books, bakes delicious things and creates small objects out of clay and resin.
Isabel has illustrated several books for young readers, including Hello Universe by Erin Entrada Kelly (2018 Newbery medal winner), Let Me Finish! by Minh Lê  (named an NPR Best Book of 2016) and Day at the Market by May Tobias-Papa (2010 winner of the Philippine National Book Award).

Isabel is a frequent contributor to Babybug and Ladybug Magazine. Her work has been recognized by American Illustration, HOW Magazine and 3x3 Magazine of Contemporary Illustration.
Her debut comic book for young readers, The Adventures of Team Pom: SQUID HAPPENS will publish in June 2021.
Isabel is a member of The Society of Illustrators, SCBWI and Ang INK (Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan).
She also publishes artist books and zines for children under the imprint Little Big Time Press.
