By An Unlikely Story
Join us for a remarkable virtual event with local author and teacher Amanda Davis, who is launching her new children's book 30,000 STITCHES: THE INSPIRING STORY OF THE NATIONAL 9/11 FLAG. The book tells the true story of the tattered American flag that flew over Ground Zero, traveled across all fifty states as it was repaired, and returned to New York as a restored symbol of unity. Just in time for the twentieth anniversary of 9/11, this heartfelt tale will stitch together the hearts of readers, just as the pieces and threads of the flag were stitched by military veterans, first responders, educators, students, community-service heroes, and family members of 9/11 victims. Each coming together to remember, to heal, and to unite. During the event, Amanda will present her book in an educational presentation and answer audience questions. This presentation is perfect for ages 5-8, and students, teachers, and parents everywhere are welcome to tune in.
