Alison Duke: In Conversation
By TPL Innovation
Toronto Public Library and Trinity Square Video present Alison Duke: In Conversation as part of Toronto Public Library's LGBTQ2S+ Filmmaker Talks, produced in partnership with Trinity Square Video for Pride Month 2021.
Cofounder of Oya Media Group, Alison Duke, aka "Golde," is an award-winning Canadian filmmaker whose dynamic stories illuminate history, document the present and push the culture forward. Known for her groundbreaking documentaries, some of her projects include producing and cowriting Mr. Jane and Finch, a 2019 CBC POV Documentary and CSA-winning film, and Being Black in Toronto, another CSA-winning documentary series that aired on CBC's Absolutely Canadian.
Alison sits down with Toronto Public Library to discuss her work and upcoming projects, the challenges and achievements she has faced during her incredible career as a Black queer woman, and will also answer audience questions in a Q&A session.
This program is part of Toronto Public Library's 2021 Pride Month series and Trinity Square Video's 50th anniversary celebrations. For more events, reading lists, videos and more, check out TPL’s Pride Celebrations webpage.
